"'You met New York boy?' Sunday shrieked.
Despite herself, Hero grinned. It was kind of fun to re-hash it, she had to admit. 'Yep. He was at the Met exhibition.'
'That's fate, don't you think?'
'No. But it was nice to see hime again.'
'Nice?' Sunday snorted. 'Nice is for cupcakes...'"
And then this one:
"'Right. Let's see if I've got it all.' Oscar read aloud from his notes. '"Get drunk, embarrass self on dance floor, public rejection from dream girl, get drunker, first kiss in toilets with unknown girl, not original dream girl, have sex straight away, clarify identity of sex partner, move in, buy dog, get married".'
'Yep. That's pretty much how it goes.'
Oscar looked deflated. 'It's not very romantic.'
'What did you expect? Mate, we have a successful business because no one has a clue any more how to do this stuff for themselves!'
'Beth, what about from a woman's point of view?'
'It's pretty much the same, but generally we're the first to get to the wallet [to ascertain partner identity]. It would be very unusual for a female to let the potential of such tremendous guilt advantage to go to the other side.'"
Ah, Melanie La'Brooy, I really do love you. And you have a new book coming out in a couple of weeks. You're officially my favourite.
Speaking of favourites of the moment, here's another eye candy moment of the delectable Marc Blucas.
