Normally, I try not to write too much personal stuff on this blog. That's what LJ is for. However, I've made a few revelations about myself lately that made me think that, as I wrote to two friends of mine earlier today, self absorbtion is not attractive and I've been a little ugly of late.

Truthfully, I don't have much going on at the moment. Sure, there's uni part-time, work full-time, and the very late lead up to preparations for Easter, but compared to some, my life is pretty damn good. If you excuse the fact that my accounts are in the red and I don't have time to write as well as keep up the look I so meticulously started after my holiday that I'm quite proud of. Please don't get me started on my love life, whatever/wherever the hell that is. Meh.

I'm feeling so out of touch with the people I care about in my life. Even when I'm with them, I'm still thinking about my own shite rather than just enjoying their company. I have friends that have their own problems and they don't need me to add to them by all but ignoring their situation, that is assuming I even know they have a situation in the first place. I've been in this situation before and it wasn't nice. I don't want to visit that again. Unlike last time, now I have far too many pies for my fingers rather than one big, all encompasing pie and I need to rationalise a few things.

What I'm trying to say is that I need to get off my bum and stop feeling sorry for myself. The sub-title of this blog is "It's all about me" when life really isn't. Nothing will change until I effect that change. I ask you all to bear with me while I do it.

I love my sister. She sent me this last night.

Five tips for being a woman. It is important:
1. That a man helps you around the house
2. That a man makes you laugh.
3. To find a man you can count on and doesn't lie to you.
4. That a manloves you and spoils you.
5. That these four men don't know each other.

Continuing the vein of silliness for today, here's some beefcake for breakfast since it has been a while.

Gotta love the French. While on the rugby field, you may run the risk of racking and losing an eye, off the field they're a pretty all right bunch...

The Other Minogue

...was one of my favourite groups marching in the Mardi Gras Parade last night. They had placards that cried "I can sing too", refering to the oft forgotten Danii Minogue.

The parade was fantastic with it's fair share of political statements as well as pride celebrations. Next year, I'm going to volunteer and if I can't, I'll definately be seeing it again. Fo too long it has been on around my birthday and it was only this year I finally got to watch it. I think it may well become my birthday tradition.

This shot was stolen from Reuters and was taken at last years parade.

Before I forget to tell you Miss Honeydeath, it would appear that T shoes are back in fashion. I saw lots when I was shoe shopping (for a wedding, honest!) and watching Kylie's Showgirl Tour on telly tonight reminded me.

A very special, albeit early, thanks need to go to the lovely Taryn, who came to the party literally with a camera when I was a dunce and forgot mine and took a bunch to photos of the parade. Thanks gorgeous! I'll link here to a website when they're ready.

I've decided to sell off some of my old garb. In the past, I've given frocks away, with the expectation that I would receive some form of fabric compensation from those to whom I have bequeathed my frocks, but have received nothing. One of the lasses has even yet to wear the dress I gave her.

So, a selling we will go. My Jacobian jacket, the Brueghel, a generic Renaissance Italian (if Fiora still doesn't want it) and an early 14th century ensemble (you know the one in which I look like a nun?) are all going to go. I'm not sure of the pricing yet and pictures will be on the blog soon. They would fit a size 14-ish. Any takers?

Of course, there has to be a pic. There was going to be a dishy guy Monday thing happening (Beefcake for Breakfast if you will), but I just didn't get there yesterday. So here's a guy for your viewing plllleasure.

It just goes to show that all men are not created equal.
