Today is the official release day of Rachel Vincent's Prey. I've spoken with my local independant Sci-fi/Fantasy bookshop, Infinitas, and my copy will arrive next week. Woot! (And no snarky comments from the peanut gallery about how I need another book like a hole in the head. Holes in the head are useful - I breathe through three of them and can hear through two, so there!)

There's been a lot of talk on the sundry blogs I visit about the Buffy vs Edward clip. KatieMay sent me a link for it and it's t'riffic! If only Bella had Buffy's gumption. If only Bella actually had a personality... Sorry, I digress.

Here's the clip in all it's wonderful glory. Enjoy!

Teeny tiny knitting

I was over at Kirsten Miller's blog (of 'Kiki Strike' fame) this morning and found a video of the most amazing variety.

As some of you may be aware, I've taken up a spot of knitting. Nothing fancy, just a scarf or two, a just-post-period pouch, maybe some Elizabethan hose in the future. I am nowhere near the skill or patience to knit on the scale that Althea Chrome does. I'm not sure if she should be lawded and admired or just scheduled.

A Wedding

It would seem that about a dozen people read this blog, which is twice as much as I thought. And no one thought the poll was a load of self-serving tripe, which is nice. I'm not at all surprised to see a couple of you thought I was crap. I know it is so, that's why the option was there in the first place!

There were comments too, which was great. Thanks for taking out the time to do it guys. I appreciate it.

On another note, Honeydeath and Rusty's wedding was lovely. Honeydeath look stunning. Rusty could have been an extra in the Godfather. I reckon every man should wear a three piece suit and a Fedora. It's oh so dapper.

The reception was really lovely too. What I can remember of it. No, I wasn't completely sozzled. I had three and a half hours sleep the night before trying to get the my bridesmaid's dress finished. Very public and profuse thanks to KatieMay and Quatrefoil for their efforts in helping me get it done. I would have been narkoo without you guys, especially Quatrefoil who went above and beyond the call of friendship to finish the frock at 5am Friday morning.

I have a few pictures up on Photobucket and have popped in a link on my sidebar for those who want a squizz. Anyone who doesn't want their photo up, just me know and I'll remove it post-haste.

This coming weekend is BoC, my first attempt at solo autocrating. Wish me luck.

After BoC, KatieMay and I are off the MyCoffeeBuddyJosh's 'Quantum of Solstice' party. That should be a hoot.

Curiouser and Curiouser

This morning, I was pleasantly surprised to find a comment from Mousicles on my previous post (thanks, by the way!) - I had no idea she read my blog. That then reminded me of a friend of mine at Festival telling me she reads my blog but doesn't ever comment.

So that got me thinking - how many people actually read it? I know my mum does and others of my friends do, but I wondered who else reads it that I don't know about. I assumed probably half a dozen folks stop by and I always write my blog accordingly. If there are more people reading than I first thought, then I should probably increase the quality of my topics, or something.

And thus a poll was born. You don't have to comment or even sign in, I think. Just let me know you stopped by. Oh, and Ma, the 'you're crap' option was just for you.
